Substitute Employment with the IU5
IU5 has an ongoing need for daily substitute teachers and teacher’s aides to work with students with special needs throughout Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties.
Substitutes may choose assignments which suit the hours, geographic locations, and/or types of classrooms in which they would like to work.
Minimum Qualifications:
Teacher Substitute: Bachelor’s Degree (in any area)
Teacher’s Aide Substitute: High School Diploma
Teacher Daily Rates for the 2024 – 2025 SY:
Teacher Substitutes: $130 (Early Intervention and Institutional Classrooms)
Teacher Substitutes: $120 - $150 (School-Aged Classrooms)
*The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates. *
Teacher’s Aide Hourly Rate for the 2024 – 2025 SY:
Early Intervention: $12
School-Aged and Institutions: $12 - $15
*The hourly rate is based on individual district substitute rates. *

- Valid PA State Police Background Clearance
- Valid PA Child Abuse Clearance
- Valid FBI Background Clearance
